>>29229483There comes a point where someone on either side just has to be like 'fuck it' and they commit themselves to the war crimes the other already accuses them of committing anyway.
Hamas has what? 50 hostages left? Maybe? If Israel carpet bombs the entire region, repeatedly and without stopping for a week straight, sure they lose whatever hostages may or may not still be alive, BUT they finish off their opponent and no further Israelis are put in harm's way. Why have air superiority and not use it?
Or
Hamas activates every operative they have, hands out every gun, grenade, suitcase bomb, suicide jacket, they all collectively say fuck it and walk into densely packed areas of targets of opportunity and let slip the dogs of war. A guerilla battle of attrition always favours the side with more cannon fodder. A strike force or carrier group from the US is hours to weeks away to show up with any resounding amount of ground forces. So make the best of what time is to be had. Israel can't be saved if there aren't any Israelis left.
All the humming and hawwing from the sidelines, by both parties, is only going to dilute interest, attention, support, or aid from allies or would be sympathisers.
Someone has to do something to get the ball rolling enough that people as a monolith give enough of a shit to do anything about it.
