In ComfyUI, my upscale and interpolate workflow was helped immensely by VHS nodes because they deliver and assemble image sequences. I can just pipe them straight into the default upscale by model node and RIFE VFI node. I also threw in Kijai's color match node using the first frame of the loaded video extracted by a select images node (I think that's what it's called). VHS video loader also will link to the VHS video info node, so you can have it automatically feed fps to a math node to automatically set the video save node to the 2x (or 3x, 4x, etc) fps number. Hope that makes sense and/or helps.

May I ask what you're aiming for with face restore? You're already pushing out a good product here. If you just want better faces, your time will probably be better spent genning at higher res.

Genning at higher res isn't an option, I'm on a 2070s+32gb of sysram. Not in good place to buy better and even if I did, i don't know if I want to just get more vram, more sysram, or go really spendy and get 5090.

No matter what a good workflow that works on a weak system would only benefit a strong one.

You should know that walkanon is cruising on 12GB and started genning at 720p lately. I think you could do it on your 8GB. Check out gguf files and lean hard into the blockswap.

Another strategy that helped me is to upscale the bejeesuz out of your starting image. I slapped the upscale by model and upscale model loader nodes right into my Wan i2v workflow, and it adds a negligible amount of time.

I also run most of my base images through a face detailer workflow. Better faces = better gens. I should probably be upscaling in this workflow, actually.

I kind of went through the same thing, and that's what's helped me. Your product is good already, though. I wouldn't get too worked up over it.

RAM is dirt ass cheap, too, relative to everything else, and easy to install. Max that out, yo.

I'm in a similar situation. Going to from 32 to 64 would help a bit since I do max out in some situations when I'm running a browser and other basic stuff on the side but I already have 4 sticks so it would mean replacing them all. Feels like a waste without moving to DDR5 at the same time which would mean a motherboard swap and a CPU upgrade at which point I'd also want to start looking at a new GPU and a new PSU. Basically a full system upgrade at that point.

Do let us know if you figure something out for the eyes or the face. I've been annoyed by that as well.

This is a problem with training the lora. Wan is already excellent at motion. You don't need to teach it the head bob with videos. If you do you are re-enforcing the penis being in the mouth aspect and it loses the object permanence.
Lora training should be all about teaching the vocabulary. Wan can do the motion on its own, when prompted, once you teach it what the end state of "balls deep" looks like.

There's a face detailer node in impact-pack. Lots of workflows available on civitai. Essentially, you feed it an image, it finds the face, and gives it a fresh coat of paint. You can set denoise higher or lower for more or less tweaking, feed it a prompt to have it focus on this or that emotion or feature.

It uses a stable diffusion model as it's base, which is neat because you can use a totally different model from the one you used to generate the image. Anime image with realistic face, or the other way around, etc.

When using NSFW models it'll sometimes work on the pussy, too, which I thought was funny.

And yeah, I just give the full size image to the Wan i2v node, regardless of resolution. It figures it out, and it's in your best interest to feed it a better starting picture.

I've been using native over the wan wrapper, it was simpler and honestly it was faster and more stable for some reason. The wan wrapper crashed for me on occasion.

Native has a blockswap via custom node, but that didn't seem to work for me. (I didn't try hard to fix it though). Also I am using GGUF wherever possible.

My current Image gen workflow consists of genning with a model that produces a lot of different characters well. Followed by a latent upscale and a second pass with model for realism (particularly skin). Then a pass with face detailer to get the face right. So most of my images are 1536x1536.

Sadly, to match my current ram sticks for 64gb total I'd have to shell out $140. Despite the fact I bought them for around $60 initially. If I replace my current sticks and get 4 new ones, i'd probably still pay >$140 But maybe max at 128gb... Kinda pissed at the massive price increase. SAME. I usually upgrade my system Ship of Theseus style. There's always carry over, But this wan stuff is basically demanding a full rebuild from me. Every component needs upgrading.

Not him, But I do it all in one and use rgthree's fast bypasser to disable upscale and facedetailer workflows when not needed. So start with a basic SDXL img gen, use latent upscale (NNLatentUpscale) and Tiled Diffusion with either realism model or just the same model. Then pass the image to face detailer from impact pack. So i get very high detail 1536x1536(or other ratios) images.
