Been working on my upscale workflow. Tried a bunch of different things. But in the end I added Reactors Face Restore to realesrgan+rife. It honestly had the best speed and quality. Consider how fucked up the source clip was, I think it did a good job cleaning up.

Theres an upscaler in their but I hit 4chan image limit.

If you're using the vhs video combine node, you can set crf to affect compression and get bigger files down to 4mb. Gen your heart out and then adjust the crf. Bigger numbers = more compression.

I have a workflow that's just vhs video load, vhs video info (to automatically grab the fps), and vhs video combine. I use it specifically for this purpose. I'll make whatever I want and save it at the default 19 crf, then run that master through at increasingly higher crf until it fits 4mb.

FusionX is such a fickle bitch. It certainly improves physics, adding micro-muscle movements when Wan 2.2 might not otherwise, but it heavily adds slow-mo to the final image.
The pieces are there, I know best of both worlds is possible with finetuning, but it's so heavy on trial and error.

Quick trick that seems to be helping me is to upscale the image before giving it to Wan. I've just got the upscale by model nodes added to my Wan i2v workflow - time added is negligible. And I hate to say it, but really gen at the absolute highest res your system can suffer. I'm capped all the way out at 1280x720p, blockswapping 37 and 15 minute gens, but the results are too much better to go back to 480p.

It's such a hard pill to swallow. I'm testing prompts at 480p just to see if they'll chooch, and those take around 260 seconds. Then I jump it up to 720p and it goes for 800.

But I have a much higher hit rate at 720p, there's no doubt. Sucks waiting that long to see the product, but I think I'm saving time in the long run by not wasting gens.

I made yet another vid. I used self enforcing loras this time and reduced the generation time from 18 min down to 6min~8min with around the same (or better) quality and better movement with less ghosting; now I don't get as much fading / faint details during movement.

Is it worth it to play around with Wan2.2? Is it that much better than Wan2.1? Do all the options, prompts and loras translate to 2.2 with no issues?

I have a stable diffusion workflow that randomly picks from a list of waifus and then randomly picks sex acts for them to be doing, then sends that all to the prompt. It's how I start most of my gens. Run that 8 times, pick a couple that I think the loras will treat well, and then off to Wan we go.

It's largely grouped by series or whatever, and it's possible for multiple names to end up in the prompt. So it may hit on, say, Vocaloid, and then it's got a list of their names (half of which are just Miku variants), each with about a 25% chance of hitting. So it'll end up sending a couple of names to the prompt.

It's a lot more complex than that, but that's the basics. So I never know who I'm going to get doing what.

Should say, it works because illustrious has so many names baked in, so I don't have to sweat character loras.
