Once the aircraft impacted, the massive explosion blew away the thin sheet rock and spray-on fire protection protecting the trusses from direct exposure to fire and the instense heat rising from below. The engineers planned for at worst a severe office fire, not a huge explosion caused by a 767 crashing into the building and a sustained fire following.

All this is blindingly fucking obvious to anyone who has any clue about modern construction and how skyscrapers like WTC were built.
