It's hilarious to know there's actual cultures out here that have a juvenile view of what's intimidating and scary.
The act isn't suppose to be the intimidating part, what comes after is suppose to be scary. The sound of the Mongol camp on the horizon isn't scary because of the sound, it's scary because what they'll do. The Roman's uniform march is scary because of how much better at war they are. The fucking Native American screams are scary because it they're attacking you're outnumbered and you'll be enslaved or scalped if you're not luckily killed in the raid.
Doing the act when your people achieved nothing, dressed in the conquerors clothes, operating in the conquerors government, speaking the conquerors language, using the conquerors technology all the while you only exist because the conquerors felt bad about how easily your ancestors died, isn't scary.
Their culture is Chihuahua's thinking that they're as scary as the Pitbull running silently towards you.
