Got two cancelled skeb requests where the refund failed to get sent back to my bank account. The pending transaction for the refund actually showed up in my bank account on the first day of both refunds, then disappeared after that because Skeb didn't actually send the money back. It's been over a week now and I have two requests of over 90,000 yen stuck in pending so I can't use that money. this is what I do
>write down what you want for the character (personnality, outfit, body type, color palette, etc.)
>use tags on danbooru to gather references that match what you want (for instance if you want a character with twintails then find images of characters with twintails you'd like your oc to have, then do it again for the outfit, and so on)
>send a request to an artist with all that info, preferably a trad comm if you want more control over the design, otherwise find a skeb artist whose style and design sense you think would be a good match for your character
if you lack ideas then you can try character creators, bounce ideas off of an AI, or request an artist with a rough idea of what you want to get their take on your oc, and see what like and dislike about the design they came up with to improve on it

Because most of those artists have designed characters I really like or have art styles and approaches to design that I greatly respect and I think it would be great if I could get one of them to design my OC. I'm not gonna mull on it for too long though, since I already know an artist who actively takes commissions and will definitely help design my OC, I just want to try my chances with high profile artists first and the only thing I can lose from the attempt is a bit of time.
