Why is America so good at logistics?
Shouldn't it be the opposite given that the U.S. is separated from any major theater
>inb4 this is /his/
American logistics is a major reason for U.S. victory in most conflicts

4/10 attempt at making this thread ontopic but okay
The US has the largest freight rail network on Earth, the most airports of any other country on Earth, and literally hundreds of forward bases all over the world anywhere from Germany to Japan. It would actually be kind of insane if the US didn't have a good logistics network

its because the US is seperated from many major theaters that it requires a very robust logistical network, in which case the US makes sure to get actual competent people in charge (somewhat helped by the fact glorfyhogs avoids those areas), keep a very detailed record on where your stuff is to help minimize the inevitable attempts at corruption, and also making sure you have a robust network of allies or countries willing to hold your bases for said logistical network

I mostly had in mind American logistics during the world wars. But I wasn’t sure how to phrase it. The image is irrelevant.

During the second world war it was less that the US had superior logistics and more like everyone else's logistics networks had gone to shit because the Germans were explicity attacking rail lines and ports in Europe and allied ships were under constant threat over U-boats. The US meanwhile was able to easily win air dominance by ramping up their aircraft and airport infrastructure during the war, something the Germans had never fully acheived.

You get to make a lot of mistakes logistically by simply being half a world away from everybody on an unassailable landmass. There's a reason Britian was successful too. I bet the romans were more impressive

They arent, their "logistics" consist of low investment and fighting weak opponents.
using a fleet of strategic aircraft to move icecream to a desert isnt good logistics, its wasteful.
Wait until America has logistical constraints, then we will see how good they are.

>being able to get frivalous items to a location within 72 hours after essential items is not an example of good logistics
