>Despite controlling large swarthes of resources and man power they got quickly outcompeted by Germany and the US in terms of manufacturing production

>by WWII they were just a glorified Amerijew base and hid the entire war behind their island until Uncle Sam bailed them out
>Try to assert itself in Suez and embarrasses themselves
>They end up becoming a colony of their former colonies with the British economy running annually large balance of payments deficits and a pathetic industrial production that will be surprassed by Spain and Poland in a decade
Why does no one shit on their insane levels of incompetence?

Both were pathetic, at least France could project power abroad and bailed Britain out in Crimea. France, Russia and the UK had to ally against Germany because it was crushing them all 3 put together

None of this is true:
>>Only rose due the collective seppuku of its rivals during the napoleonic wars that they were able to avoid because they are an island
>By the way the empire lasted around 80 years kek
The first overseas posessions of the British government (i.e. when Empire began) were made in the 16th century when Britain first claimed parts of Canada and what is now North Carolina. Later on in the 17th century, the EIC took control of much of India, and parts of the Caribbean were established as Crown Colonies. Bermuda was settled, the beginnings of the 13 Colonies were established, and the RAC took control of ports on the west coast of Africa (e.g. James Island, Accra and Bunce Island). I won't bother going into the myriad of 18th, 19th, and 20th century conquests for obvious reasons.
>>built against savages with sticks against their machine guns and artillery
Wars were fought against the other colonial powers (chiefly France and Spain) in those sparsely populated areas that had "savages with sticks" - in fact, it's the USA that only ever fought "savages with sticks". Aside from that, the Indian nations of the time were armed with gunpowder and had artillery, as did the Chinese.
>>At its peak it could project pathetic power abroad as seeing in Crimea in which they needed France to save face against a backwards shithole like Russia
In fact, it was France who asked the British to join their war against Russia (one of the great land powers of the time, in a war and not in fact a backwards shithole) - they declared war first, and the immediate cause of war was their appointment of the Marquis de la Valette as their ambassador to the Ottoman Empire as part of a longstanding dispute between France and Russia over which nation had authority over the Christian population of the Levant.

>>Despite controlling large swarthes of resources and man power they got quickly outcompeted by Germany and the US in terms of manufacturing production
Not only did Britain have a smaller population in a far less centralised state than both of these nations, Britain's industrial production was superior for about 110 years.
>>>the first real war that they fought made the empire collapse and kicked them back as a second tier power
The collapse of the Empire occurred after WW2, which was the most deadly conflict in human history by a factor of 2 or 3.

This 100%.

The only half way impressive conquest/territory of the British Empire is India. Everywhere else is either land they discovered with both small and severely technologically inferior peoples in Australia, North America and Africa.

What? The Brits were losing hard and parlament was panicking due the rise of the Franco-Spanish fleet and the lack of financial means of the country to meet the threat as 40% of the budget was already allocated to interest payments (for France it was 50% but with a much smaller fiscal wedge and for Spain it was 15%).
If it wasn't due Louis XVI being a pussy the UK's tiny empire of some towns in India, Jamaica and the virgin islands would have collapsed in the early XIX and France would have remained Europe's hegemon for at least another century.
The Brits got incredibly lucky due their geography and a black swan event that weakened considerably its main rivals while they were camping on an island

It was to aid the American Revolution *against the British* that Louis XVI mortally weakened his position. It was then Britain that financed and masterminded the Napoleonic Wars against the resultant illegitimate proletarian lashup that took control of France. Cope, seethe, remember what language we are having this ""conversation"" in.

It's the unique urge of the natural loser (Napoleon for example) to claim that anything which does not benefit them is unfair and their enemies shouldn't be allowed to use it

France's debt was more manageable that Britain, Louis by giving back power to regional parlaments shot himself in the foot

>Florida
>the Mosquito coast
> The great lakes
>Minorca
>The Bahamas
And it didn't take bacl Gibraltar and Jamaica due the luck of funds of France. Unironically the Brits were on the backfoot on the late XVIII century due the Bourbon reforms and third family pact and the Brits got bailed out by a black swan event

The worst thing about their "empire" is using Canada and Australia (which their territories are 95% uninhabited even today) to sum up the extension of their empire.

Just Canada is like all southamerica in extension yet there were nobody living there and they just settled 1-2 mini cities with wooden houses. Yet they put all their km2 as part of their empire. Total marketing and fakeness.
