Mormonism doesn't even acknowledge the existence of "gay people" as such, they are just confused people struggling with same-sex attraction. It's a key tenet of the faith and sodomy is literally the 3rd worst sin according to the Book of Mormon.
The homo would be welcomed into the church with open arms if he were willing to repent and give up on his sinful lusts and either remain celibate or enter into a real marriage with a woman. But alas, the homo isn't willing to break up with his "boyfriend" to join a church he is "called to." In the USA this will never happen - the government *cannot* compel a church in any way over their theological practices. Even if there was a lawsuit filed it would immediately be dismissed on 1st amendment grounds. That is separation of church and state.
