This lines up with the idea that whiteness is a technological development (indoor civilization) a few other races tried to evolve into existence, but they only had the genetic flexibility to become semi-white. The birth of an entire white race changed everything. Being white makes you an easier target for predators, but in a world that subdued predators, the focus is shifted to attracting humans. White physiology is more expressive and more visible, because it's white, motivating greater morality. The rural to urban spectrum of primitive whiteness enforces the moral difference because more primitive rural (outdoor) people cannot afford sophisticated morality. However morality is often paralyzing, white people are inherently part of a mouse utopia that yearns for some different world. There are just too many grifters and usurped god-emperors running around the white world for anything to be stable. In short, futuristic morality doesn't mean moral superiority. Humanity was fine for the first million years of its existence. Some would say whiteness was a mistake.

Agriculture and UV are responsible for skin colour variation imo. Agricultural societies don't get as much vitamin D from their diet, so they need to synthethise more of it from UV light. Northerly latitudes get less direct sunlight, much of which is reflected back into space because it enters the atmosphere at a lower angle, and people cover more of their skin because it's colder. This leads to Inuits being darker skinned, despite living in more northerly latitudes, due to agriculture being impossible. They have a more meat heavy diet, and so don't require as much sunlight. Likewise, some tropical populations grow crops, and thus have evolved to block less of the sunlight. There's also migrations of lighter skinned people into tropical regions who might not have darkened sufficiently yet.

Do you mean are white people glad to be white? I think people generally find the features of their own race more attractive than those of other races.
Or are you asking about other races wanting to be white? I'm not sure about that one. I think lighter colours may broadly be considered more attractive because darkness was dangerous in our evolutionary history. We don't have good night vision but our predators did. That's why we associate black with evil and white with goodness. But that's just an assumption of mine.

Is it really the case though? There are some benefits of light complexion from the evolutionary standpoint but at the same time you can look at various north Siberians or Innuits and despite living in the north they didn't evolve in it. You talk about indoors culture but the first urban cultures started in the middle east and they still aren't white. You will say that ok but more people worked outside back then, sure but so did the medieval people and we know they already had the white phenotypes.

It was sexual selection, not necessarily in the sense that people did free love and a sort of market made it this way, it was more likely far more savage(chieftains picking the whitest brides they could find and having lots more surviving offspring than the plebs), but it seems that this kind of physical characteristic is too unique to be caused by adaptation to specific environment rather than simple selection.

The specific environment is a humanized world, like how anon pointed out the impact of agriculture, it wasn't practical or worthwhile when the population was scattered HGs. My hypothesis holds that "primitive whiteness" like the arab and chinese elites was the social aspect of whiteness emerging in contexts that could support them, sheltered and wealthy agricultural communities, but they lacked the genetic flexibility to change more than they did. The white race began when a mutant albino, which would've been a semi-regular phenomenon throughout prehistory, finally showed up in a desirable time and place.

More like because they strongly correlate with youth in our mind, and youth is a massively positive sexual signal to our lizard brain.
Both hair and skin tend to darken as children grow, and skin also tends to darken with age and damage, unlike hair which lose coloration instead.
