It's similar in the sense they're both neurotic desert tribes who insist they have the blessing of god to commit genocide
It's different in the sense the modern Israel is 77 years old and created by the Soviet Union to screw over the British

Present Israel isn't theocratic or monarchical, there is no hereditary priesthood and worship isn't centralized in one massive temple. It is similar in that most people there are jews.

The government is different, the territory is different, the religious authority is different. Pretty much the primary similarity is that it's mostly made up of Jews, and even then, globalization has caused the ethnic make-up to be much more diverse than biblical times.

This is the equivalent of being a devout Christian and then naming your daughter Mary Magdalene. That's as far as the similarities go and it's really more of a strategic homage than anything.

The Kingdom of Judea was a theocratic monarchy where Judaism was the state religion, the modern state of Israel is a Western-style secular republic that functions as an ethnostate for Jews.

Actually it doesn't have that, since the modern people who claim to be Jews now have no actual connection to the Biblical Jews.

Can I name my property Israel?
Will Christians be obligated to defend it when I stop paying taxes?

"Judaism" didnt exist back then. "Judaism" was established by two pharisees, Rabbi Yohanan ben Zakkai and Rabbi Akiva, after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE.

well there wasn't a Talmud. There was only the law of Moses and messianic prophecy. The were called "Hebrews" or "Israelites" not Jews.

After the Babylonian exile, during the Second Temple period (roughly 516 BCE to 70 CE), various Jewish groups and movements emerged. These included the Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, and Zealots.
Before the exile the kingdom of Judea had various eras of worship towards the true God and other gods like baal and asherah. So instead of rigid sects there were vague viewpoints and conflict between different gods entirely depending of the king in power really. You can read 1 and 2 Kings or 1 and 2 Chronicles to get the idea.

Jews don't "believe" in the Talmud like they believe in the Torah. It's not a holy book.

So there wasn't even a unified religion, only an umbrella tradition?

I mean you could say there was a unified movement when moses came down from that mountain but even then there were some israelites worshipping a bull. Point is, there was never anything called "Judaism" until the tribes of Judah, Levi and Dan got their temple wrecked in 70ad and a bunch of pharisees needed to come up with a new religion quick.

What kind of a question is this? Even IF they were the same, why would a Christian be obligated to support them?
