In a modern left-right sense, left tends to favour government control over the economy where right favours individual freedom. A king who's authority is mostly absolute is a form of government control.

I don't care whether monarchy is left-wing or right-wing, I just want it.
And I don't want a nominal monarchy where the king or queen merely rubberstamps whatever Parliament decided today.

A king should lead national forces in the battlefield in case of war, and in peacetime constantly travel across the country to hear about the local issues in this or that region, with no single fixed residence
