Here is my personal solution to the problem of evil. God isn't omnipotent. There is god, and there is ignorance. Ignorance as a force I have not yet perfectly discerned yet but it's something beyond the reach of god. God is also not a being with a mind and senses, but a living spirit. He does everything that isn't done through ignorance. Ignorance on the other hand is a force opposing god, and when a human does something evil, it's in the spirit of ignorance, and thus god cannot destroy it's existence or prevent it from happening. Thanks for reading, hope you can share some thoughts on that.

Stop ignoring your duty by presenting yourself as ignorant.

Its not that God "can not". It's that his potential is in us.

Sort of a Neoplatonist or maybe Hegelian take. I used to think evil = ignorance too but unfortunately it's one of the few things the Socratics got quite wrong.

The basic issue is that the world just doesn't actually work this way. Sure, there are people with good will who do evil thinking it's the right thing to do. And there's people with bad will who are purposefully ignorant.

But there are *also* people who do evil they know is wrong, and would rather not be doing. Romans 7:15-20 describes something that ignorance alone can't explain. When you start to fight against sin in yourself, you realize this not only lives in you, but in every human heart.

Yes, but not because man is evil by nature (nothing is evil by nature) and not because the instincts are bad (they are unruly subjects) but because everyone and everything in the world is so infected by the vast system of evil that everyone born into the world catches the disease.
