Nah, he was terrible. Should have just eradicated (((them))) rather than free them from Babylonian captivity. Hopefully one day his tomb is decorated with their corpses.

Yes but it's a really low bar unless you include Turks ruling over Persia as Persian emperors

Kinda strange considering that the Persian empires lasted for almost a millenium. And were quite capable of holding the Romans back at their height.
What makes the Persian empires such a tough nut to crack if the Shahanshah's were so mediocre?

This is what Yahu says to Cyrus, his messiah,
whose right hand he will empower.
Before him, mighty kings will be paralyzed with fear.
Their fortress gates will be opened,
never to shut again.
This is what Yahu says:

“I will go before you, Cyrus,
and level the mountains.
I will smash down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.
And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness—
secret riches.
I will do this so you may know that I am Yahu,
the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.

Isaiah 45:13
I will raise up Cyrus to fulfill my righteous purpose, and I will guide his actions. He will restore my city and free my captive people— without seeking a reward! I, Yahu of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!”
