Hard times create tyrants
Tyrants create good times for themselves by subjugating the mob
The mob copes and romanticizes previous hard times as good times
Times continue to be eternally generally shit for the mob

It is true, however, that ease of life creates faggotry which in turn creates misfortune for us all. The only way out of the pit we're in now is for a massive crisis to take place and force people's heads out of their arses.

Just look, you have the economic capital of america up in flames right now because they want more invaders.

It's always a good time if you're rich.

It's relative. Besides we can actually just look at bones, settlement patterns and and other material artifacts to see periods of peace and war. Yes, not everyone could sit in comfy chair watching the AOTY while eating their favorite ice cream but historians aren't going to claim every moment of human existence until the 70s was pure 24/7 of misery

It was perfectly possible for local areas to go through generations after generations of 'good times', without ever trying to gamble that or parlay it into an empire or domination of any kind over other areas.

We're just looking at through a modern lense where we care more about the fate of a whole society or nation, concepts that didn't really exist for most of history for most of the people. When we look back and see how shit things were, we're looking at the history of places that were being subjugated by one local area or city, or one tribe, or one nation, and comparing the outcomes of that local area to the outcomes for the people subjugating them. Obviously things are going to get worse for them.

Very bad take. Ease of life creates opportunities to put more aside for deeper and lasting developments, and the risk is that the opportunity will be squandered. The goal is still to get that kind of choice.

Why should I care about the mob? If you're too low IQ to elevate yourself above the masses you're not a real human.

Gayreeks permanently lost influence over their region because they destroyed themselves fighting eachother in the Peloponnesian War. /pol/ memes make no sense.
