Somehow, this is even more LARPy than Norse paganism. At least for Norse paganism there were some vague, layered texts that were open to multiple interpretations. With Slavic paganism, particularly East Slavic paganism, there's practically nothing. It's all newly invented stuff, instead of just mostly, like with the Norse LARPers.

There are two kinds of people I've seen attracted to pagan revivalist movements and largely it depends on their actual physical location.
Like for these Greeks, I don't doubt it more springs from an ethnic affinity especially as every church on the planet is getting more liberal with their interpretation of "love thy neighbour". Same goes for Rodnovery in Slavic countries. There's something in the way the churches preach today that just isn't doing it for them and you even see this idea expressed among Christians themselves, where the more traditional minded have to hop from church to church in their denomination to try to look for one that even pretends to eschew modern decay. I know the church I grew up in is completely overwhelmed with third world detritus and I can't even set foot there anymore.
The second kind of pagan, the kind you'll most often find in the West, usually just has a beef with their Christfag parents for believing that being gay is degenerate. Both the pagan leftoid and the pagan Nazi types you'll find over here practice as such because they, like almost all other North American whites, are deracinated and concocting an abstract idea of "ancestry" allows them to project the things they believe today onto this ancestry as the TRUE traditions of their people. Good examples of this are the exaggeration of homosexuality in ancient Greece or American neo-Nazis claiming ownership of the entirety of European history.
