Christian Griepenkerl: This is the man who rejected Adolf Hitler at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 1908. What do you think of him and his art academy?

This is actually really impressive to find. I just sort of assumed subconsciously that exactly who rejected Hitler was unknown, and maybe by now untraceable.

You are onto something about the conservative nature of the professor and his more liberal students. My guess is that this man simply had more discriminating tastes when it came to even more traditional arts.

Hitler mainly painted buildings and landscapes. Very rarely people.

But he was good at what he did.

People always say Hitler was rejected from art school.... and though he was, it's a bit of a half truth. Griepkerl praised his Hitler's drawings of buildings and suggested that he apply to the Vienna school of architecture instead.

Hitler was always passionate about architecture and he designed the initial sketches of many Third Reich buildings (which were fully designed by Albert Speer, Hitler's chief architect).

I'm thinking Hitler actually would have really enjoyed architecture academically and as a career, in a different alternate universe.

But I think Hitler was very hurt by the suggestion to where he didn't take it seriously.

Lol. Lmao even. Hitler fucking sucked. Couldn't even pull off basic perspective that 5th graders do in their weekly art class. He was suggested architecture because he was so shit at drawing basic shapes that the rigid rules of building plans might improve is utterly deficient sense of shape.

He got rejected for being bad at drawing people and got propossed to apply for architecture school and instead of doing that he submitted a picture of a building the second time. if he wasn't a retard he easily could've done art.

It isn't art because it has no technical or artistic merit. It's just a badly done drawing of a building that can't even get basic perspective right. Vanishing points stopped being bleeding edge 400 years before Adolf failed to understand them. Hitler specifically took pride in his art being a display of technical ability. The fact that he utterly lacked any technical ability shows how much of a retard he was.

>>17793464
>He was suggested architecture because he was so shit at drawing basic shapes that the rigid rules of building plans might improve is utterly deficient sense of shape.
Actually, it was because the evaluators legitimately believed that he had some talent that could be done there. Hitler himself even thought that architecture was his true calling. He never applied to the architecture school because designing buildings requires math and engineering principles. Architecture school required a high school diploma, and Hitler was too proud to go back and complete the high school he dropped out of.

That's the real reason. He was literally just mad that nobody would let a mathematically illiterate dropout start designing structures and he was too proud to go get the 1900s Austrian equivalent to a GED.
