as of now they are mostly a novelty, something you play around for to make something goofy then get bored with once said novelty wares off, the tech behind it and how it improved over the course of a few years is neat

I don't know if there are any good example of AI generated history but your pic is a terrible example. Humans back in 1 AD are still humans now. Imagine asking a football player what the main thing about football is and their only answer is just "don't lose". Or imagine asking Jordon Peterson what he does and his only answer is just "Well I debate people but my managers usually pair me with the biggest retards so I always look intelligent"

Not very impressed. AI is only as good as the data it has and for niche data like the Hellenistic era or 16th century soldiers it's going to fuck up cause there's like only a handful of sources to train on. Heck it hasn't nailed Roman helmets yet, keeps generating things you would expect from Hollywood because it's trained on Hollywood and other pop culture stuff. I guess it's fine for messing around but I have already seen people trying to peddle obviously AI generated images as real historical photos. Serious history channels/places avoid it like the plague.

it reminds me that we are going to see everything become shittified in the extremely nearby future.

most focus on le funny AI videos, and don't notice things like the dozens and dozens of apps and services that summarise books and articles now. many of them working to try get integration with sites used by major for research. zoomers are using it throughout university because retarded tenured history lecturers can't figure out how to reliably detect it, and they're already so overworked and underpaid that they don't give a fuck.

as we march headlong into the permanent shittification of everything that we love, we are flanked by a dozen retards on either side telling us not to worry, or that we're luddites if we disagree, or that it's "democracy of art", or a billion other excuses that we'll cringe at in the near future when everything becomes shit.

when a human you dislike makes something you disagree with, there's at least a person behind it; a person you can connect with, engage with, try to sway or maybe even learn from. with all this AI slop, the only thing any of us will be able to engage with is endless slop aimed not at teaching or entertaining but simply at keeping your attention.

people will over-intellectualise it and others will shrug it off. it only took a few months for millions of users on social media to become
>"GROK IS THIS TRUE?"
>"AI PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO THINK"
and for those with an interest in history, you know what this means for both the hobby and the profession. before, you could tell a retard "no" and show him why. now the retard, can summon forth endless bullshit from the void thanks to AI, and they'll believe it because the robot is god.

tl;dr - faggy techbros from california have once again managed to invent something with so many cool applications and have yet again decided that it's only worthy purpose is to cut another slice of humanity away and replace it with a line that goes up
