Well, in fact one of his disciples, Judas, did abandon him, but besides that, all we have for most of the disciples to tell us they stuck with Christianity to the end is much later legends and traditions, not sources close to them.
If I recall correctly, Paul's letters mention Peter, John, and James (but maybe not one of the Jameses from the 12 disciples?) and the Acts of the Apostles mostly cares about Peter and Paul and doesn't say what the other apostles were up to beyond the immediate aftermath of Jesus's resurrection, and that's about it. What happened to Thomas? Philip? Bartholomew? The way apologists tell it, they all faced severe persecution yet refused to deny that they saw Jesus raised from the dead even to save their own lives, but in we have little to no evidence of this.
