Historically speaking why do Americans support it, when it's a Russian-settler state, first recognized officially by the USSR? Something doesn't make sense here

Most Christians feel like their religion is closer to Judaism than Islam, probably because 75% of their Holy Book is the Jewish Holy Book, so most Christians naturally feel more obligated to support the Jews
