I get the concept of fasting as it’s preached in Hinduism and Buddhism etc. it’s a time for self reflection and time to think away from worldly desires like gluttony etc and improves your mental and physical resolve

The benefits of a day of rest seem intuitive. You spend good time with your family or friends and consecrate the day that God's supposed to have rested on. There's a lot of prayer involved in the day, as well. Maybe it could be a day where you and the missus get fruitful and multiply. It's something where I feel the Jews have gotten it right.

Christianity only begins to make some sense if you accept that much of the OT isn't actually from the highest God but from "angels" or "elemental spirits" or humans pretending to be speaking for God, as Paul often seems to imply, though imo his writings have been heavily corrupted to make them a confusing mess, probably so that the corrupters could lure Christians back into a half-Judaism with the claim that *other* people had corrupted his writings.
