I once said the following to a Protestant:
"Why do you support Israel? Judaism calls Jesus a fraud, while Islam at least acknowledges him as a prophet."
He replied:
"The Jews, while they rejected the New Testament, are still living according to the Old Testament. So we can’t say for certain whether they’ll go to hell. But Muslims are idolaters, and according to the Bible, idolaters are clearly destined for hell. The same goes for Catholics."
So I asked, “Then did the Europeans who used to believe in Catholicism in the past all go to hell too?”
He said yes.
At the time, I didn’t have much religious knowledge, so the conversation ended there. But now that I think about it, I’m genuinely curious — do other Protestants think this way too?
