When Muhammad composed the Quran, he also forgot multiple verses like Joseph Smith with Harris and the 116 missing pages. There's actually a verse in the Quran that says Allah deliberately made Muhammad forget those verses just like the explanation for Joseph Smith.

The difference between Muhammad and Joseph Smith is that the literary quality of the Quran is higher in its own language than the Book of Mormon. The verses of the Quran in each chapter rhyme with each other. Joseph Smith didn't make an effort to make the Book of Mormon sound better in English.
