When you read about the 60s 70s etc young people were really mobile, they could drive to another city and have a job and place in a week or so. Why dont we see this anymore?

First, ask yourself what kind of jobs those were. Then, look into why we don't have them anymore and where they went. Finally, go down to the hardware store for some rope so we can hang the kikes.
