I’ve found that it’s mostly Japanese-Americans that get upset over it. Most of the Japanese just see it as a thing that happened and to move on. This is mostly due to the fact that if they were to push the issue and bring up terms like “war crime” and “unnecessary loss of life” then they would be hit with an entire wars worth of some of the most fucked up shit which the Imperial Army and others took part in.
