That's right all you aborted babies, children that died before being baptized and people that never heard of Jesus because they lived too far away and died before the Gospel reached them. Enjoy burning for eternity.

- With all my love, Jesus

there's a first death, where you go to Sheol, there you are judged i think, then if you dont pass the judgment, then you get sent to hell i think
at least that's how i interpreted the Bible when i read it

This is basically how people are reading the bible now, and why the KJV cultists think that people are changing the bible to corrupt humanity. Its the key point of the KJV cult, they think that this change is the anti christ ruining their bible.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So they're taken out of hell, judged, and thrown back in. Make it make sense dumb gnome poster.

why would you go to Sheol if you have not already been judged? Are those who were saved and died in heaven right now? If so, why would anything else not be considered Hell?

maybe Sheol IS different from the eternal lake of fire, in that Sheol is temporary until final judgement. Regardless, not the place you want to end up, and doesn't seem important for humans to know the difference. Hell is Hell.

So final judgement involves people in Sheol/Hades being judged and thrown into the lake of fire? I think we are on the same page here.

Can you explain how these verses mean eternal conscious torment?

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in heck.

This is the second death.

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

ECT verses mainly come from
>Luke 16:23 - In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.
>Matthew 25:46 - “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
>Revelation 14:10-11 - they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”

Eternal Conscious Torment is not explicitly stated in the Bible or teachings of Jesus, however it does seem to be the best understanding of the large majority of them.

Hey thanks for having this conversation with me so far.
Luke: Equating Hades/Sheol to Gehenna/Lake of Fire bring us back to my first point. How do Hades/Sheol and Hell differ? Do poor people go straight to heaven and rich people straight to hell? Can people in heaven talk to people in hell? Or was this Jesus turning a pharisee idea on its head, that rich people are blessed by God and poor/sick people are cursed by God, by flipping their beliefs into their faces?

Matthew: There is no reason to assume that this doesn't mean the eternal destruction of your soul and the removal of your soul from eternal life.

Revelation: A tougher verse, for sure. Note another verse where eternal smoke is described for a temporary destruction of a nation.
For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion. 9And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. 10It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

DESU, this would have been a great moment for Peter to say something along the lines of what you just said.

Alright, as soon as you are going to start pretending that you hold the keys to heaven, I am going to exit. Explain this a few chapters later if you think water baptism is not what they meant.

34 The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” 35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.

36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?” [37] [c] 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. 40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.

or

and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.[a] It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

the water is a symbol. a representation of your soul being cleansed.
Is it a sacrament? yes.
Are Christians meant to do it? yes.
It dunking your head in water the determining factor of your salvation? no.

"And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them"

Why are there these three separate places from which the dead come, the sea, Death, and Hades? It's weird.

And, immediately after, Death and Hades are thrown into the lake of fire, but the sea is also done away with, though without the need for it to be thrown into the lake of fire.

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more."

Still weird.

Revelation 20:11
"Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sat on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them."
Shortly before the sea, Death, and Hades are mentioned as giving up their dead, the above is said, so it's as if the sea, Death, and Hades are the three places left over in the absence of heaven and earth.

No, it's not. First, you are using the wrong translation. If you read the King James Bible even a little bit, you'd know that the Bible often repeats itself with different words for emphasis. You are trying to find secret gnosis that doesn't exist, because you aren't satisfied with a plain understanding of God's word. Probably because you aren't saved.

Anyone else ever notice how Christians are among the least interested in actually understanding what their book says? They're confident that they already have the one true interpretation and anyone trying to understand what it actually says is in some way opposed to the true (unthinking) faith.
