it's spiritual. not just metaphorical. the bible is the truth, but it operates across a spectrum of truth. some of it is literal accounts of what happened. some of it is metaphorical, and some of it is metaphysical, where events did happen but outside of the material world, and this is all interwoven with itself. if god is trinitarian, you have to read his word within three simultaneous lenses. a physical sense, a logical sense, and a spiritual sense, else it becomes incoherent. if you don't have a body, soul, and spirit you shouldn't bother reading the bible at all. people with a body and soul won't make sense of the bible and become raging atheists if they try to read it, and people who just have a body (normies) don't read at all
