I'm talking about genocidal replacement on the basis of making this *land* Christian like what the Teutonics did with Prussia or the English with New England. The fall of Rome wasn't like this and the Saxons weren't exactly replaced by Franks whatsoever they just got violently converted and progressively got more into the Frankish orbit such that they took over the empire later.

The fear of God was good for civilizing those animals, but it's rather unlikely that many were truly, biblically saved because of it, given catholicism always gets in the way of people knowing the truth.

In any event, you cannot "force Jesus" into people and it's openly against what Jesus himself preached:
