Let me introduce you to the Ismaili Trinity.
As you can see, it is built upon the initial work of Christians, but is more pure and more logical - representing a cycle of spirituality and life, as opposed to separation.

Christians are based, and so is Jesus, but their work was incomplete.

Natiq = the prophet = he who brings divine revelatoin
Asas = the foundation = the successor who interprets this revelation
Imam = the living God-Emperor who interprets the hidden meanings and provides spiritual guidance for the people

The Aga Khan is the leader who has been genetically selected through bloodlines for 1400 years. Knowledge gets passed down through mystery schools and evolves with the times.
There's a differentiation between NPCs who get basic level theory, and chads who get the inner secrets.

When new prophets are born (Moses, Jesus, Mohammed), they kickstart a new cycle, geared for that given world.

Effectively
>elite bloodlines maintaining spiritual authority
>normie filters
>secret knowledge for the worthy
>adaptive leadership as opposed to blind faith

That's all you have - fear and a blind devotion to your fairytales.
If there is a hell, the ignorant surely will be the majority.
