>>17821098 (OP)>why were boomers so addicted to killing people?I'm under the impression it was half a dozen things:
1. The surveillance state wasn't what it is today: DNA forensic evidence wasn't first used until like 1984 for instance. It was just infinitely easier to be a grassroots psychopath. It was also a lot easier for a town, a small town, to be an evangelical cult nightmare where the police let rapes and murders happen because "outsiders need to stay outta our town" or whatever.
2. They were exposed to significantly higher lead levels since they put it in the paint and the gasoline. Lead makes you dumb and violent.
3. Entertainment options were limited: no internet, no internet porn, no streaming services, no video games. People are retarded and anachronistic in that disenfranchised single men in the past would, in the absence of video games, cause crime. Say what you will, but constant access to internet porn and video games keeps retarded violent men placated.
4. Racial relations were a lot more heated and energetic: black panthers, kkk'ers, martin luther kinging, millions mans march, etc.. I say this more as a conflating thing: people in the past don't have the distractions they have today, they had significantly longer media news cycles, so they could really seethe and fester about societal problems.
Likewise, you could just rape or murder gay people with impunity. I can't remember the term for the legal defense, homosexual hysteria? transexual hysteria? There was a legal defense that you could say a gay person was so offensive to you that you went into a hysteric fit and killed them and the court would just be like, "sounds about right." This is, of course, bad because the onus was on the dead/attacked person to "prove they're not gay."
