There are aspects of Stalin's rule that I think you could say represent a turn to the right within the communist movement. But right/left are also kind of relative. Is Stalin right-wing or left-wing relative to Hitler? I'd say he was to the left and the conflict between the Third Reich and the USSR can be considered a conflict between right and left.
