Ares was a jobber.

>Athena’s strategy and calm control triumph over Ares' chaotic aggression.
>She helps Diomedes strike Ares with a spear, wounding the god and forcing him to flee back to Olympus.
>Ares complains to Zeus, but Zeus scolds him, essentially calling him a troublemaker and a coward.

To be honest with you that just sounds like Athenian Propaganda.
I wonder if we'd be dick-riding Poseidon right now had it instead been called Poseidonia.

It gets even worse

>During the Trojan War, the mortal hero Diomedes, aided by Athena, wounds Ares in battle.
>Diomedes hurls a spear, guided by Athena, and strikes Ares in the abdomen.
>Ares screams in pain and flees to Olympus to complain to Zeus.
>He compares his suffering to the pain of thousands dying in war.
>Zeus scolds him for his cowardice.

>Ares has an affair with Aphrodite, Hephaestus' wife.
>Hephaestus crafts an unbreakable net to trap them in bed together.
>The gods laugh at Ares’ humiliation when they see the trapped couple.

>The twin giants Otus and Ephialtes once captured Ares and imprisoned him in a bronze jar for over a year until Zeus sent out Hermes to free him.

>Athena repeatedly bests Ares in the Iliad, e.g. when she throws a boulder at him and knocks him down.
>"Pallas Athena took up a stone and flung it at Ares. She smote him on the neck, and he fell."

>In some myths, Heracles fights and wounds Ares during a war with the Amazons.
>Ares is enraged at Heracles for killing his son Cycnus and fights him. Heracles wounds Ares and drives him off.

The cuck of war, the laughingstock of Olympus.

How is it Athenian propaganda if the Iliad was based on the Achaeans, when Sparta was Mycenaean and not Dorian. It was also written down by Homer, an Ionian (mix of Ionian and Carian) in Ionia in Ionian (Asian minor, Anatolia, modern day western Turkey). The rivalry between Athens and Sparta wasn't even a thing back then. I swear some people on this board are such fucking morons they have no idea what the fuck they are talking about, but at the same time, state their stupidity with such confidence. It baffles me.
