What was Adolf Hitler like during his time in the German Army while The Great War raged on? What is known of his activities during this time, and how much did he exaggerate or outright lie about regarding this period of his life in Mein Kampf?

He may have earned the Iron Cross, but he turned out to be quite a megalomaniac, as we see historically.

he was by all accounts a good soldier, at least as far as his officers were concerned; he was a dispatch runner which was a dangerous job and was clearly dedicated
he earned an iron cross and other commendations, and he stayed in the army greatly diminished after the war, he so someone thought he had "the right stuff"
technically he was in the german army illegally since he was an austrian, but they let that slide
many of his comrades thought less of him, he was kind of seen as a nerd and a lackey, and still bought into all the patriotism and morale when most soldiers were cynical
he never drank or smoked or would go to brothels with them; didn't have much of a sense of humor
the army sort of gave him a life he didn't have after being homeless, and when it was over he like many others was fully disillusioned and embraced the "stab in the back" myth
then getting into politics after a decade of brooding- the chaos in german in the 20s- he had no family or career or home to go back to; it was where his road to power began

>What was Adolf Hitler like during his time in the German Army while The Great War raged on?
He was a quiet guy, mostly keeping to himself, but he was still well regarded by his comrades. Political discussions seemed to be the only time where he really got involved. He enjoyed drawing in his free time, and was really bummed when his sketchbook got stolen. He almost never received mailed, but he had a small dog to which he teached some tricks. He was critical of his comrades for going to French prostitutes and he didn't smoke, so he usually traded his tobacco rations for rations of fruit jam. He's job as a runner it's often portrayed as more dangerous than it actually was, he was a regimental runner, mostly going back and forth from HQ to the front. It's still a dangerous job, but he wasn't dodging exploding shells and machine gun fire on a daily basis like a battalion runner. He saw combat and was wounded a few times, including getting gassed. He was held as brave and reliable soldier, who seemed to really enjoy being at the front, even refusing promotions to cushier jobs on the back lines a couple of times.

He lost his country the first world war, he was a loser even before being sent to prison and being kicked out of art school. He also looks like a Mexican in that photo

Why this hatred of french hoes? I can understand if it's an aversion to venereal diseases, but I also read somewhere that he considered it a "betrayal " to Germany. Is it possible to be so gay and autistic? your comrades are dying of horniness, and you're criticizing them
