It would, but you'd have all of the current system's beneficiaries league against you, aka : capitalists & minorities.
But yes, it's very clear that individualism can't keep on going, there needs to be an alternative in-between the virtue and religious centered societies of pre-modern era with no growth and alienation, and the current atomized & empiricist society with no outlook for the community and the collective.

Libya used its oil reserves to invest in universities, infrastructure, hospitals, things people actually need that they didn’t have access to before and helped with productivity. Venezuela used it to give free cash and food to people which is retarded and was never going to last because oil prices fluctuate.
