Culture and genetics. But Ancient Israelites and Ancient Greek are closer to each other than a Northern European is to most known Ancient Greeks. Greeks are European though, so they're closer to you than Israelites are.
No need to make this more complicated than it is.
Ancient Greeks are an important window into Indo-European culture though. It doesn't matter if you don't care about that. It's the truth.
