It clearly has Turkish nationalist undertones. Instead of just focusing on the new samples from Anatolia, there is this sotadix brown coded resentment that just regurgitates the 2019 study on Rome with absolutely zero to add.

>we replaced the Romans but we remained the exact same Anatolian kangs

Plus using Boncuklu is a strange choice. Itโ€™s another piece of shit graduate thesis that should have been handled by Reich lab instead of a grad student, just like the one on Pompeii. Hopefully the new samples will be published in the next AADR so itโ€™s not a total waste.

The Romans were pic related. East Med admixture is male biased. They were conquerors, not slaves. Cry about it.

What am I crying about? Nothing. There is a clear agenda from the author of this paper. There were no new Italian samples provided but for some reason significant parts of this paper talked about Central Italy for no reason. Literally nothing to add.

Yes R437 is significant but there are not enough samples from this time yet. There is no way Latins were homogeneously like that. I predict a majority were like Etruscans with a sizable minority of R437 like individuals, more than most would expect. You are also anti-Italic and say they were mudhutters and cuckolds.

It's basically saying the same thing as the paper about the Balkans. That there was no significant genetic contribution from 'Italics'. This is because the Romans weren't pure Italics. There's a much stronger correlation between Roman expansion and J2 y-dna than there is with R1b-U152.
>Another possibility is that individuals carrying contributions from the Near East, which began increasing in S Europe during the Iron Age, might have migrated eastward in subsequent generations. As they share high-level similarity into eastern populations, they resulted in less pronounced differences in Anatolia.
>mudhutters
It's true.
>cuckolds

So how do I know I can trust the studies? Is something being distorted or hidden on purpose? As the other anon said, the Iranian study is strange, and don't call me a Nordicist, it seems like sometimes the authors have confirmation bias and 0% steppe? Okay.

It's not about EHG being absent. It's plausible for Sardinian like samples to exist in republican rome, after all it's a few km away.
The ones with CHG are probably aegean migrants.
Kinda strange that they have no EHG but it's not impossible.
The problem is that the study uses a spurious connection at best to make the claim that anatolians specifically caused the eastern shift. The eastern shift could've come from a lot of sources.
Also the instistence on anatolians being "unchanged" from x period to y period reeks of petty nationalism.
