Putin's "Eurasian" policy will forever drag the country further to China. The country will never have answers to curb Chinese influence. Their influence only spans into Central Asia and even that will dwindle since Taliban is back in power.

If russia had turned west in 1990, it would now be the dominant power within the EU. Eastern europe would look up to it as a leader against western degeneracy and mass immigration. The economy would be booming, life standards would increase.

Russia will always be a fringe peripheral state of Europe. Whether or not they integrate like the rest of eastern europe is unknown, given their recalcitrant soul stemming from their narrative of history. They can't be in the east because the majority of their population are christian/atheists individualists. They're just a more bastardized form of the West with contrarian ideals.

Can't happen. At most you could have some form of Eurasian state prioritizing their central Asian territory but it doesn't make sense for the Russian elites to do so in our modern cosmopolitan western world.
Ironically enough, Russia prior to the 20th century was much more "eastern" than it is now. Their integration of cossack culture aswell as their relative independence from the classic western culture made them much more eastern than now. However, when Peter the Great forged the new Russia, their hopes of being an eastern civilization died.

I know perfectly well that some eastern europeans (poland for instance) hate russia with a burning anger. I also know that others (slovakia, hungary) who suffered similarly under them are now pro-russian, despite everything russia has done in the past 10 years. If they were smart theyd build up the east with well made highly productive cities to be population centers.
The east would give them a center of power far away from Europe and allow them to deal with Europe like America does.
