Let's say the Confederacy won the Civil War, would this country actually be better for it considering they were going transition out of a slavery economy eventually?

The worst result of the South winning would be that the South would get more immigrants, Lincoln's armies destroying the states there was unfortunately the only way to avoid that fate. But Ulster-Scots blood purity aside, Hamiltonian hyper-centralism would be crushed as a national force and the Union might split up further. This would totally handicap the United States as a world power, but would keep it morally closer to the ideals of the founding generation. Basically a total Jeffersonian victory, which is the good outcome if you have a soul.

Industrialization would probably come late maybe in the 1880s, since none of this actually happened it's really only speculation more than anything.

Basically they were shaping up to be an anarcho capitalist haven where the government had no power over the economy or what the states did. They were already the top 5 most industrialized nations on the planet and were already using blacks for rail and stuff like that. I would imagine eventually they would have created a new state just for all the brown people that wanted rights and it would have been a shithole as it should have been because it was a bunch of brown people

Even without slavery the south would be a country completely dependent on agriculture. When the great depression (or a similar event) inevitably occurs it's economy would be completely destroyed, much like what happend in the agriculturally dependent countries of Latin America. The CSA would likely end up in the same situation of unstable governments and US backed anti-communist coups that places like Argentina were, and today would be in a similar position to those countries, but with added racial violence

There would be no demographic displacement campaigns and dixie + yankie cultures would still exist. Also a U.S. split up between a northern USA and southern CSA would make it logistically impossible for America to assist any country in WW1 nor in WW2. There wouldn't be lend leasing to the Soviet Union and the spread of Communism would prove impossible. The Soviet Union would immediately collapse under Stalin or just after his death due to immense bankruptcy. Unironically a Confederate victory would've ensured a much better world than today since America would still be majority white and Europe would be ruled by Nazi Germany; China would still be Nationalist instead of Maoist and Japan would keep their Empire.

Slavery would be abolished by 1880 as the North rapidly industrializes and enters its Gilded Age, leading to brain drain from the South and it quickly becomes apparent by Southern Lawmakers that Slavery is not a good economic model
Then around 1900, lawmakers and diplomats from the North and South announce a reunification treaty, and the 35 years between the end of the Civil War and Reunification and then known by history books as the "Lost Years"
At the end of the day, nothing changes, because while the South starts off an even bigger shithole in this timeline do to the lost years, by this point the US government is more willing to pour money into improving Southern infrastructure, and reconstruction is far less of a failure in this timeline, but because the South ended up a third world shithole in those 35 years, all it means in reality is that nothing changes by modern day and the South is just like it is now, a mild shithole instead of a fullblown one

the north would never make a peace in good faith and attempt to reconquer soon anyway
