There is a non-zero percent possibility that real Christianity was corrupted or even lost.

Christian = everyone who follows Jesus' teachings, putting them into practice in their daily lives. not that bullshit you see, of people attending church on Sundays, forgetting God all week

You want to know what a Christian is? Read this:
https://acim.org/acim/text/introduction/en/s/51?wid=toc&fwv=true

Otherwise you'll be utterly and completely lost, like most of the masses.

It still exists in the form of fundamentalist Baptist Christianity.

Jesus was an apocalyptic schizo who that the end of the world was imminent in the lifetime of his listeners.

I'd say it was definitely lost since they had to desperately cope and retcon his teachings to account for the fact that even only 300 years later they were demonstrably false.

You could say the same thing about the fact that there are so many potentially heretical versions of Christianity that exist, or the fact that there are other religions extant. It's a poor argument.

The only bizarre, or, non-scriptural component to the Nicene Creed is the "catholic" church affirmation. "Katholikos" occurs nowhere in the New Testament. It was first used to distinguish between scriptural Christians and Gnostics (notably, Gnostics didn't keep communion with other Gnostics - scriptural Christians were "universal" by comparison, in communion with one another).
We have many sources from the Ante-Nicene period. You can trace any potential changes in doctrine. Nothing like Muslims or Mormons claim about "corruption" is correct. Although changes did occur.

I once saw this preacher say that he believed in God because the Bible is so well written. He said that the Bible is full of self-references and a lot of the ideas and themes and events relate to others in the book. And because the Bible has innumerable different authors, it MUST be true, he claimed
I thought it was so silly because the Bible didn't fall out of the sky one day. It was assembled by very smart people. They went through all the possible documents and decided which ones were good enough. I've got history textbooks as well put together as the Bible

Nicæa did nothing but dogmatise Athanasian Trinitarianism and choose the Constantinopolitan computus paschalis—both of which took centuries to be adopted by the world. "Real Christianity" was never "corrupted" nor "lost"

Jesus himself criticized the disciples for "not getting it" and failing to understand Jesus' own view on Magdalene and their purpose as followers as opposed to a random Joe on the street.
Jesus sought high-iq people of both sexes, as an opposition to the hyper-masculine literalist theofascist of the Pharisees and Romans. The Greco-Romans and Pharisees agreed on the strict superiority of male scholars not only in principle, but in active enforcement despite evidence. The Essenes and Hasmoneans used to be in dialogue with Egypt and Cleopatra before the Pharisees and Herods turned the region into a male asperger theocracy.

>Jesus was an apocalyptic schizo who that the end of the world was imminent in the lifetime of his listeners.
The Roman Republic and Hasmonean realm was in active spiritual collapse during Jesus' lifetime. The "Roman Empire" signified the death of individual supremacy at the mercy of the fascist sword of the herd.
Jesus was in the spiritual position of Aragorn, trying to defend the notion of the individual superiority despite the defiant pressure of the herd. The Council of Nicea marked the moment at which "The Church" also discarded the notion of the individual in order to defend an undisputable "canon" decided and put together by a herd as opposed to a shepherd. Jesus was all for the living word, whereas the Council of Nicea canonized and idolized a textual corpse.

And yet there is a single church that contains the majority of Christians and Christianity is the single most popular religion in the world. God successfully maintained his church.
