All gods are mythologies

Religion is just a primitive cultural phenomenon, and along with it comes some brutal rituals with circumcision being the worst in my opinion too

there is actually 'no definition'
ergo this is already 'less retarded'

In abrahamic belief systems, the conviction that human beings are an image of perfection, is accompanied by the belief that the image was tarnished in the garden of eden.
In other words - you aren't perfect the way you are. You have to work.

All sacrifices - of your own blood and of others - were a primitive way of expressing our recognized indebtedness.
In Christianity, that sacrifice was "exchanged" for an internal, emotional sacrifice.

In Judaism and Islam, they still believe the internal follows the external. So if you follow the religious dietary laws, purity laws, and circumcision, with the right mindset, you'll become a mature adult.
You might think you don't need symbols to understand these things, but your brain tells you otherwise by producing dreams and mental illnesses. Human beings are only rational as far as the ego is concerned, but the psyche encompasses a lot more than the ego.

How is that different from just not being perfect and existing as any thing? Doesn't sound like it makes humans different than apes or dogs or tree fungus.

it's just the very very tip bro. one quick cut and you're done.
rabbis innovated it sometime around 100 AD where they started to stick their fingernails inside and literally rip it off the glans in its entirety.
Exercise in the nude around the same sex at least was considered permissible by Jews in the first century. Paul alludes to the idea of "becoming uncircumcised" which is probably achieved by using the foreskin string of Greeks to tie the foreskin around the glans. The fact that "circumcised" Jews could actually use the strings means they still had most of the foreskin intact.
>inb4 it's still bad
I guess. I think anyone would say they'd rather have 90% of their foreskin than 0%.

Modern circumcision is not the same as before. It was quiet literally just the tip, not the whole gland.

we are made in his image *spiritually*, as far as things go we are the only animals that can reason & get in contact with the spiritual realm.
also, made in his image =/= exact copy, we can strive to be like him, some even achieve it, but theres still pretty substancial differences.

According to some Christians, God is a trinity. The incarnate Son had a foreskin, and endured circumcision in order to fulfil the law. Now you get to keep your foreskin.

Birds fly, dogs bark, and people think. We think in a very particular and special way. We have a psyche.

And the thing about the psyche is that it starts with matter, and it needs to interact with matter to persist - in the material world - but it brings something immaterial to that interaction, in the form of ideas, freely manipulated, which are not limited to space and time and biology.
You'll say the ideas are just electrical impulses or something.
But the ideas are only stored and transferred in the body, they aren't the cells.

Flight existed before birds. Flight isn't made of feathers or skin or anything like that. The whole blueprint of the animal pre-exists the animal, by necessity,.
The rules of the animal kingdom played out predictably over and over until we came into the picture. Now most people can be manipulated like animals but we can develop a resistance to those old patterns and be stewards of them, as opposed to their possessions. That's what it means to be like God in potential but not necessarily in fact.

I looked to The Church to learn about Jesus. I don't want to out myself by saying "which church".
But don't trust anyone that tells you to just open the bible and read, because it isn't magic.

Plenty of people have read the Bible and come to insane conclusions and spawned scizoid moevements. And every other shitposter here thinks he can cut this section out or add in some "lost chapter".
The Church governs all that. You're not on your own. Don't trust any "spirit" outside the Church.
