Are Gods from Mahabharata the original Aryan Gods? When Jeets make idols of gods from Mahabharata and worship them, are they worshipping Aryan Gods of long past? Also where did the characters of Mahabharata come from

I started an introductory book to Hinduism and what I dislike the most about it is that if is monotheistic, despite Gods being a thing.

I assume itโ€™s monotheistic in the sense there is only one leader of gods like Zeus and there are other gods serving under Zeus

Nah, the ancient, pre-zurvanist iranian religion was probably the closest to the original. That, or Scythian religious practice. Or a mix of both.

That's not monotheism at all. The book describes Hinduism (or Sanatana Dharma, its real name) as monotheistic panentheism, which is supposed to mean that there is only one God with many manifestation, and the Gods are also his manifestations. I guess whether it is monotheistic or polytheistic depends on the school of thought and on how one defines God and Gods. It would make perfect sense for it to be monotheistic if the Gods are beings with no agency and just "manifestations" of Brahman (God). Or if the Gods are beings like angels, subservient to God and on an entirely inferior level, but then why call them Gods? If everything is a manifestation of God... if we are a manifestation of God we are still human, just like the Gods are still Gods, so in this case it is retarded to not call it polytheism.
So far the book is very preachy and biased, but still good. The philosophy is also garbage, it's christcuck apologetics tier. I've read Gethin's Foundations of Buddhism which was so much better, better philosophy, better religion, better theistic views, etc.
Btw most jeets are monotheists, including Indian Buddhists despite the fact that Buddhism is polytheistic.
Polytheists are a minority in India. There is a minority of polytheists even among Indian Christians and Muslims.

Bharatiyas worship the same God Christians and Muslims worship. Religions are many, but God is one. They do it through those gods with different names, but their intention is to reach the Supreme Purusha, the Creator. They also do that through Lord Ganesha himself. Westerners have difficulty comprehending that.

This is what the people who are obsessed with "Indo-Europeans" are supporting btw. Just some weird cuckold fetish for Indian supremacy. So if you like this OP, then your answer is yes, we was jeets.

I view Jeets not as descendants of Aryans of mahabharata but a slave race that grew in larger numbers.

An example of Jeets imo would be pakis of London. If current trends hold good then Muslim Pakistanis will become majority in UK and will claim they launched East India company, built Windsor palace and Hampton court down the line. Does it mean they built it just because they currently live there? I view the Indians the same way.

Indians had a civilization before the invasion and no doubt contributed a great deal to Hinduism and Vedic culture. If you think it was all a once-sided exchange, I hope you have a good reason for thinking so.

>>17842040 I do my own research. I don't give a fuck about what people x or y thinks. I'm interested in the truth, and I'm not dumb to astray from this path just because someone else cannot understand it. Believe whatever you want if it serves you. Not my problem.
