Why did God even need to flood the Earth to kill everyone? Couldn't he have just made his point by thanos snapping everyone away? It would've been cleaner and more efficient

Considering how massive the universe is, I wouldn't be surprised if he got bored with Earth and started fucking with some other planet millions of lightyears from us and that's why he hasn't shown himself in thousands of years
