Why were Horn Africans able to have written scripts, boats, 2 story buildings, and the wheel prior to the age of colonialism, while they rest if sub Saharan Africans weren’t? Is it due to some geographic advantage or just trade? They even had gunpowder kingdoms

They did? Ajami can be seen in many places several protocols scripts were known and used, and Nubians used to use Egyptian Hieroglyphs, then two separate takes on the Greek alphabet (Greek and then a local adaptation of Coptic script) before going to Arabic script.
