Which gods are actually benevolent, /his/? And with benevolent, I mean divinities that won't kill or harm their followers for capricious reasons.

Cry about it, Amaterasu is Queen.

>>17854683

I'll elaborate. The relationship with the kami is reciprocal. If you disobey them, bad things come to you. If you obey them and love them, good things will come to you. And they created us, so they would never do unnecessary harm to us.

Ok, that's good, Amaterasu gets the pass. But what about Susanoo? Is he the black sheep of the pantheon?

Even worse, he had to watch how everything he loved was destroyed in front of him just because of a bet Yahweh made with the Devil himself. That Yahweh repays him at the end doesn't excuse his actions one bit. There also many examples of Yahweh being a full blown jackass god, but Job is the more populat one.

Objectively false? There was not bet, and the satan present in the court is not the Devil, "satan" is just a title for the position of the accuser in the divine court, which is what was happening, a cour proceeding with Job as the one on trial.

Listen.

Why did your Jeebus not protect the many martyrs allotted to Christianity across the 2000 years of its existence? If your deity actually held any power, it would be for the same reason. We were never told we would be protected from physical evils, but spiritual ones.

Also, look at your country now. Amaterasu's revenge has been exacted, Her will has been done.

Don't take it personal.

Because their suffering glorifies them. Martyrdom is something to be proud of, one should not run away from it, it exalts you.
>We were never told we would be protected from physical evils, but spiritual ones
So if Japan was being invaded and conquered, Amaterasu wouldn't do shit since she only protects you from "spiritual" evils? What a bitch.
>Also, look at your country now.
What about it? You don't know where I'm from.
>materasu's revenge has been exacted, Her will has been done.
Fucking how? The US still dominates Japan, it's little more than a vassal state of America, it has no army of its own. Japan is America's bitch.

Emperor Naruhito will be the last to the throne, then Apocalypse will come.

Then you'll be sorry.

Now, I'm done with you, smarmy little jackass. Ask Amaterasu for guidance, ya clearly need some. I'll hide your posts now.

He's not a benevolent deity, and that's final. A god that tells you to seek pain for yourself and others isn't a good one

If it was a bet, what was the wager? What did either God or the satan pledge to gain or lose?
>Keep telling yourself that
You know how we know that it's a title and not a name? Because the word satan has the prefix "ha" which means "the", thus haSatan means "the Satan", or "the Accuser".

Funny thing here, is that those two atomic bombs precisely fell on top of two of the most christian populations in Japan. So chances are it wasn't Amaterasu protecting them, but Yahweh, and he decided that it was time for the japanese to experience the good ol' biblical pain

See for yourself. You have many christians bitching how Nagasaki was exterminated when it had almost half of the population of japanese christians, and Hiroshima was not very far behind.
The funny thing is that Nagasaki was going to be spared and the bombs were going to fall into Kokura, the original target, it being a faithful shintoist city, but the clouds messed with the air crew, and so Nagasaki was chosen. Seems Amaterasu really did something for her people there

>The growth of Hiroshima as a city continued after the First World War, as the city now attracted the attention of the Catholic Church, and on May 4, 1923, an Apostolic Vicar was appointed for that city.
Wikipedia article on Hiroshima, showing that Hiroshima was pretty welcoming to christianity
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.catholicnewsagency.com/amp/news/255054/atomic-bomb-dropped-on-nagasaki-killed-two-thirds-of-the-city-s-catholics-78-years-ago
>After this brief summary of Catholicism in this city, the cardinal wrote: “We can well assume that the atomic bombs were not dropped at random. The question is therefore unavoidable: How was this chosen for the second hecatomb, among all, precisely the city of Japan where Catholicism, apart from having the most glorious history, was most widespread and affirmed?”
There, happy now?
