This is not a nord vs med thread, I repeat. Western civilization is the product of Germanic, celtic, roman and greek elements.

The Western civilization is the result of Christianity, specially of Catholicism given the pope was the spiritual authority of most of Europe for almost two millennia

why does it always have to be one people who made it all? really, the western civilisation of 1280 was still mostly Romanic? or had things changed a little and did the ancestors of Gallo-Romans and Ibero-Romans (Spain, France) and Germanics (England, HRE) built the wealthiest kingdoms with the highest living standard seen up until that point?

The foundations are greco-roman. Specifically, mostly the institutions romans developed to handle the tribals. The foundation of European culture is the chastity cage latins built for the germans.
Germans have since developed this chastity cage plenty, they have air conditioning, voice activated commands, etc. They have done a lot of work on it. They've even put modern Italians in such cages. I don't hive them ownership, however. Its not theirs. They participated in building it, the same way that mosquitos participated in the invention of the mosquito net, but I can't give them ownership of it. Its not theirs, its for them. Difference.

so the last 1000 years of western civilizational accomplishment goes still to the ancient italic-romans? not romanized celts and germanics? do you live in some villa in a mountain range untouched by time or something?

Every single European tradition is Celto-Germanic (Romans were Celts and modern Meds are Celto-Germanic). Christianity only gets added because it pretends that it invented traditions it copied from Celto-Germanics.

This 100%. I’m sick of hearing about the greco-roman roots of Western civilization. Ancient civilizations would be so foreign and barbaric to the Christian civilizations of the early modern era. Greco-roman civilization adhered to might over right, was militaristic, had no regard for the well being of the masses, was indulgent and hedonistic, and also interested in the esoteric. Western euros during the enlightenment were desperately looking for something to cling on to other than the Christian tradition of medieval europe.
