Imagine having a normal day, taking a stroll and buying things and all at the temple, and suddenly this fucker comes and starts breaking everything and assaulting people.

The one sort of cool thing Jesus does in his entire ministry is having an autistic fit in public

I also like the part where He said to a fig tree that didn't bear fruits in season while He was hungry to go die and it did.
And tHEN He gave a lesson over it, after it had withered away.

>noooooo, not letting me fuck over normal people by monopolizing silver coins and overcharging for them is antisemitism and literally Hitler.
Why are jews such awful people?

In the Gospel accounts, Jesus saw the fig tree had leaves, which normally signal that fruit is either present or developing, but the tree had no figs at all—not even these early ones. So, the tree gave the appearance of being fruitful (with leaves) but was actually barren.

This is part of why Jesus’ cursing the tree carries symbolic weight—it’s a sign against hypocrisy: outward show of life and fruitfulness but no real spiritual fruit. Does that help clarify?

I know these are jews we are talking about, but hebrew coins obviously would have different value than roman ones. Yeshua probably didn't know about economics beyond making some woodcraft and getting paid for it, so when he saw that 2 roman coins weren't 2 hebrew coins, he had a fit on innocent merchants trying to live on

I doubt it. I'm sure they weren't exchanging at par since they were running a business. Moreover, it was for making a sacrifice at the Temple, so there were more opportunities to rip off gullible idiots who *absolutely* needed to perform the religious rite.

Is it better than stealing offerings from the temple?

That's on you then

It was the very same temple of Jerusalem, a very important place to do religious rites. Of course a location so important is going to sell things at a higher price. It's like going to a 5 stars hotel, and expecting them to charge you like a trucker motel. Yeshua was more than likely in the wrong there, and the fact he got treated as a criminal after that doesn't make him any favours
