Most people went their entire life without seeing a black person, they would never even hear a foreign language spoken.

There was no crime, you knew your neighbours and all of them were decent people.
There were no drugs of any kind.

Sure there were exceptions, there are always exceptions, but for the vast vast majority of people that lived ordinary lives, they never encountered these exceptions and never even knew they existed.

The only real downside is that, no matter what our life conditions are, whether we are rich kings or starving children, we grow accustomed to it and it become standard.
This way of life which was so free of struggle and yet so void of glory, become a sort of mental poison for many.
Mundanity, they could no longer see the beautiful safety, simplicity, and stability of their life, they could only see monotony and stagnation.

This is a lie, or representative of a very short era ca 1945- onwards. The norm was not that newlyweds moved into their own house or apartment, but that a spouse moved in with the in-laws.
