Just finished Mike Duncanโ€™s History of Rome podcast. He posits that one of the principal reasons for the fall of Rome is its failure to integrate the Germans like they previously did with other peoples like the Illyrians. Was it feasible? And at what point should a people refuse to accept the integration of another people? Pic related

The Romans would just be conquered by other Germanics from further north and further east. There is no way they would've been able to conquer all of this and the Roman Empire fell due to internal reasons (and the northerners getting stronger themselves).
