If it’s possible for any religion other than chrisitanity or Islam to be successful long term, why do 93% of people who leave Christianity become atheists?

No Christian leave Christianity. Only atheists claiming to be Christians "leave" Christianity (they were never Christians to begin with).

Nu-Atheism has been subverted to become the other end of the horseshoe, where instead of the virtue of the suffering servant (rabbi Yesuhua's crucifixion) the virtue of suffering mutated into secular class and racial minority struggle. Nu-atheism's greatest trick is convincing "ex-christians" that they left the Christian plantation. They are both socially acceptable universalists idea systems by the power dynamic so long they dont interfere with the Foundational Myth of the West (Holocaust.) The pipeline between Christianity and Nu-Atheism is quite open in either direction despite the spectacle of bickering.

Because most of the people who leave have tendencies which would be disapproved by the church, not only but including abject homosexuality. They leave because they want to coom and the church won't let them.

The Holocaust isn't a foundational myth of the West. I literally have a video on Odysee explaining why. The Holocaust didn't happen in the 18th century when the age of exploration was going on. The boomers just shoehorned it in because of misplaced "human rights" beliefs no doubt attributed to growing up in a society with too much prosperity and not enough hardship.
