>>17866896Nah, quite the opposite. American Jews act like this though (like everybody else in America). You will keep getting predictions wrong because you don't understand Israelis. If you don't understand your enemy, or how your enemy thinks, you're probably gonna lose.
>>17866772Israeli culture is very blunt and aggressive. There are few niceties. Some people would hate it, like living in A Clockwork Orange. I only make that reference because they have a slang term "droogi" which comes from Russian.
The non-Jews who really get into Israel are people like Douglas Murray who likes that stuff and how militarized the place is. I think their main advantage is a mix of Western-style beliefs (like certain ways of organizing an economy, and investing in technology) with Eastern-style tribalism. They have larger families, secular ones too. The society is less atomized than Western societies. People know their neighbors and do things for them more.
>>17866772I get not disliking Israel, or finding what they do criminal. But I am convinced that people who develop an obsessive complex about them are projecting something they don't like about themselves, or their own society, or something going wrong with their own lives or society onto them. That is what is fairly distinct about antisemitism. People often reveal something about themselves when they talk about the Jews. It's like circumcision, something missing. Something failing.
They do tend to run against the reigning morality of the day. Like you hear about this "does Israel have a right to exist" stuff in the U.S. which is intended as a tripwire to cancel people, but a big part of Zionism as it's practiced there is that Jews don't ask anyone's permission to exist. They don't care what the U.N. thinks.
